What do the Dalai Lama, the Golden Temple, and the Kama Sutra have in common?

They all show up in the soon-to-be-released book:

With misconceptions, with esoteric marketing hype, and with all the pseudo-spiritual bullshit that is sold today under the label "Buddhism"."

The Author

Kristin is a high-functioning autistic woman and gifted in several cognitive areas.

Through her self-taught studies in psychology, she encountered the original teachings of the Pali Canon years ago — the oldest fully preserved collection of the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of what we call “Buddhism” today.

With Buddha Bullshit, she’s releasing a book that not only breaks down the complexity of Buddhism in plain language but also exposes our modern spiritual wishful thinking, the usual misunderstandings, and the actual core of the buddhistic teachings.

What's waiting for you

ASIA Restaurant: Asian restaurant building

"The classic misunderstanding:

A grinning bald man with a pot belly sits in the corner of an Asian restaurant and is reverently called 'the Buddha'.

Some even rub his belly - for luck, prosperity, or extra crispy spring rolls."

Who he really is?

One of the many questions the book actually answers.

Man in relaxed yoga pose, OK sign

"Buddha wasn't a yoga teacher.

He didn't teach people how to look highly enlightened, but how to end suffering."

Sure, the Downward-Facing Dog position might help ease your everyday “suffering” a bit, but for the full approach, the practice of "the open book" is recommended.

Buddha bowl with avocado, hummus, and smoothie

"If you believe today’s wellness accounts, mindfulness gurus, and lifestyle coaches, Buddhism is mainly one thing:

a fashionable lifestyle — clean, vegan, minimalist. Filled with bamboo-and-linen ritual sets and, of course, soul food. Preferably served as a carefully color-coordinated ‘Buddha Bowl’ that has about as much to do with an actual "Buddha" as a smoothie has to do with the enlightenment."

"You finally want to know what Buddhism is all about?

No problem, you say to yourself - Google it:

'Buddhism + meaning + origin'

Ten seconds later, you're enlightened.

Congratulations!"

Maybe you’d rather read the book instead.
